What’s your favourite thing about surfing? That every wave is different. You never know what to expect and just the thrill you get after each ride or trick you do.

Which surfer inspires you the most? Layne Beachley, I’m reading her book at the moment and that’s making me admire her even more.

When I was a child I wanted to be… A professional in any sport I played or a physiotherapist

Favourite wave? Rocky Point in Taranaki, NZ

Describe your last twelve months in three words… Crazy, amazing, continuous!

Where’s the most interesting place you have been? South Africa, Sumbawa or Mexico.

I wish people would take more notice of… The way they look after the environment. Reduce, reuse, recycle.

What are your obsessions outside of surfing? Surfing the internet! Any other sport.

The best invention…Surfboards

Before I die I want to…. Love and live a fun and healthy life

My greatest achievement… Staying alive and having fun

My greatest fear… dying

Not many people know this about me but… I was in the New Zealand Soccer Academy and in the Wanaka Ski Acadamy.

My most embarrassing moment would be… Not embarrassing enough for me to remember.

The soundtrack to my life would be… Ahh can’t choose, too many good songs. It would definitely be a happy one though.

My philosophy is… Keep it simple stupid and don’t live life by ‘What ifs”.

Anything else you’d like to include… NEW ZEALAND!!!

Paige Hareb created history recently by becoming the first female Kiwi to qualify for the World Championship Tour. 2008 was an amazing year for Paige on both the Australiasian Pro Junior Series as well as the World Qualifying Series. After entering two World Qualifying Series events in Australia and placing 5th and 1st, Paige made the decision to travel the world with the aim to furfill her dream to compete with surfing's elite on the World Championship Tour. That dream became a reality in Hawaii at the end of last year when she was told of the great news. Paige grew up in Taranaki on New Zealand North Island, with the ocean at her front door steps and the mountains in her backyard. Paige was introduced to surfing at a young age by her father, Mike on one of his longboards. Surfing hasn't been the only sport that Paige grew up with, she played tennis, soccer, basketball, rugby and was also a member of the New Zealand academy for skiing. At only 18 years of age, one thing is for sure with the determination, national pride and solid surfing talent Paige possesses, she is ready to make her mark in Women's Surfing.
